  • Have you seen a wrong answer get voted a best answer?

Example (oversimplified): Someone asks "what's 2+2 base 10"... It gets four answers -- 4, 3, 4, 4 Each of the fours polls one vote (but that's three votes for 4) The answer "3" pulls two votes. So they best answer is "3" but the answer "4" had three votes. Interesting, no?

Would you vote for anyone who didn't think they were trying their best? If you feel that "no vote" is the better position, please discuss whether you think answerers should be deprived on voting for themselves only, or to be barred from voting for *any* answer for the question. And I might put this to a vote.

That means they asked questions, but haven't done anything else! It doesn't take any special knowledge and only little effort to rate a resolved question or to vote on answers. Would it help clear the clutter if all had to take action with 5 or so resolved Q's and vote on some unresolved Q's before being able to ask or answer a question? If required, do you think it would drive beneficial people away or would it raise the value of participation?
